Job Description:

Lord Fairfax Community College invites applications for the position of Vice President for Financial and Administrative Services.  As a member of the President's advisory team, this key position serves as the college's chief financial and administrative officer and has primary responsibility for finance, budget, technology services, facilities management, capital outlay, auxiliary services, campus security and emergency planning, general administration, and will actively support the 2010 strategic planning process. The incumbent will have significant interaction with internal and external constituencies, including the College and Foundation Boards, administrators from local jurisdictions, and the Virginia Community College System.

The application deadline is December 28.  On-campus interviews will take place the week of January 25, 2010.  The salary range is $99,000 to $110,000.

Requirements:

A master's degree in an appropriate discipline such as business administration, public administration, or architecture/engineering is required. Demonstrated ability to successfully manage and develop staff, experience working collaboratively with diverse groups, superior interpersonal and communication skills, and the ability to think creatively, strategically, and proactively. The successful applicant must be a team player with a positive attitude. Knowledge of and experience in general operating principles and practices in higher education is preferred.  A minimum of seven years of progressively responsible administrative and management experience in finance and administration is required with ten years of experience preferred including a thorough working knowledge of financial management and business practices. Preference will be given to those candidates who demonstrate experience at senior management level, and especially those with experience with capital projects and facilities management.
